IAAF Competition Organization Seminar

In keeping with the premise of the IAAF World Athletic Plan (2003), the IAAF RDC San Juan successfully hosted an IAAF Competition Organization Seminar from May 13 -16, 2009. In attendance were 33 participants, representing  24 Member Federations (AIA, ANT, ARU, BAH, BAR, BER, IVB, CAN, CAY, CRC, DMA, DOM, GUA, GUY, HON, JAM, AHO, NCA, PUR, SKN, VIN, TRI, TKS & ISV).

IAAF Council Member, William 'Bill' Bailey (AUS) was the lead presenter, ably assisted by Michael Serralta (PUR). Also in attendance throughout the seminar and making a guest presentation was NACAC President and IAAF Area Representative Neville 'Teddy' McCook.

A wealth of information on Competition Organization – garnered through the experiences and knowledge of both facilitators and participants was shared through very innovative and interactive sessions; including lectures, workshops and group presentations.

We trust that the information received by the participants will be applied to the organization of competitions in their respective National Federations (NFs), thus providing a more attractive event, not only for spectators but also for prospective sponsors.
